This power packed, old vine Garnacha is from a winery founded in 1939 in Navarra’s Baja Montaña region. Crafted from the intensely flavoured grapes of ancient, low yielding vines grown high on a windswept plain, this is a dense, raspberry rich red.

Our Buyer Beth is passionate about Spanish wines, so she ventures to the furthest corners to find the very best. This one she discovered in northeast Spain, in the wildest, most remote part of Navarra – an ancient Garnacha vineyard, where the average age of the vines is 70 years and some are a century old. Bodega de Sada is hardly known abroad (Sada village has just 200 inhabitants) yet makes amazing wines, thanks in part to winemaker María Eransus Nadal, who worked for years with the legendary Telmo Rodríguez – a top name in Spain. The vines are high up, which lends an aromatic lightness of touch. Packed with bright berry, wild herb and lifted violet flavours, Alta Sada is a perfect choice with chorizo, chickpea and tomato casserole.

"Very good. Love it, full bodied and fruity in a subtle way. Whole family enjoyed it" Online Review
