Rías Baixas is one of the top regions of Galicia in northwest Spain – a haven for intensely fresh, ripe fruit whites with plenty of zip. One of its finest grapes is Albariño, beautifully expressed in this vibrant white from Fillaboa. Its name means 'Good Daughter' and the estate dates back to the 17th century, one of the oldest in Galicia. Boasting 74 hectares of vines, these are all dedicated to Albariño. They are situated in the south of the appellation, close to the Portuguese border, where the Tea and Miño rivers join. These and the proximity to the Atlantic lends a wonderful freshness to the wines. Lees aged, this white shows creaminess, but is still ultra fresh. Great on its own; perfect too with grilled fish or creamy risotto.
