Château Mouton Rothschild 2017

Pauillac AOC 1er Grand Cru Classe

One of the finest performances of 2017 and our 'money-no-object' pick of the vintage, this is Mouton Rothschild at its best. A highest ever percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon lends tremendous power, length and depth. Remarkable; worthy of 98+ points.

There's enormous praise from critics worldwide for the 2017 from this iconic Pauillac property. This vintage of Mouton Rothschild includes the highest percentage ever of Cabernet Sauvignon, the grape that performed best that year at this estate. To match that majesty, only new oak barrels were used to age the wine, which has added to the power, depth and layers of remarkable complexity. Jane Anson in Decanter called it, "a beautiful, persistent, gorgeous wine that will age gracefully," while Lisa Perrotti Brown in RobertParker.com describes "crushed black currants, warm blackberries and chocolate-covered cherries with hints of violets, star anise, cinnamon stick and cloves plus wafts of pencil lead and unsmoked cigars". Definitely a keeper.

"Super fine-grained, smooth tannins and incredible freshness, with tons of tightly wound layers. Wow" Lisa Perrotti-Brown
