Domaine Lucien Camus-Bruchon Bourgogne 2016

Bourgogne AOC

Delightful Burgundy from renowned fourth generation winemaker Guillaume Camus. It tastes way more superior than its Bourgogne status. Partly because it contains grapes from Premier Cru vineyards. Fragrant red fruit and spice, pure with silky charm.

Fine Pinot Noir from Guillaume Camus – a star of southern Burgundy. Across the board, his wines display a real sense of the region’s unique terroir. This meticulous winemaker spends most of his time tending the old vines on his estate, just like his father Lucien did, because ultimately that’s where quality is decided. Though labelled as a simple Bourgogne, this expertly made red contains grapes from Premier Cru sites in Savigny, Pommard and Beaune to lend extra layers of berry flavour. A little oak adds the kind of complexity normally found in a Premier Cru and contributes to its appealing silky texture – the trademark of fine Burgundy and rarely found in a plain Bourgogne. Exceptional value – savour with chicken or creamy wild mushrooms.
