Aix Quisite 2018

Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence AOP

Provence remains supreme for classy pinks. Not always cheap, but our Buyer Jean-Marc knows that Aix offers quality with value. Using Provence’s classic grapes, the cellar there has captured the pretty berry fruit, stony citrus notes and savoury riff.

A joyful play on words perhaps, but this is a delicious and delightful, pretty Provence pink. Our Buyer Jean-Marc Sauboua discovered a small cellar in Aix, just 30 km from the Mediterranean – an appellation where he knows he can get superb quality at a good price. Its vineyards are blessed by the cooling mistral wind, which slows the ripening and ups the aroma, intensity and freshness (downside being the wind drives you a bit mad!). The wine is a classic (for Provence) blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Vermentino (known here as Rolle), cool fermented and bottled fresh for you to enjoy the charming fruit. Chill down and serve on a sunny terrace as an aperitif, with crab or spring vegetable risotto, char-grilled chicken or creamy choux pastry.

"A very charmant pink from beautiful Aix – the place for quality and value today" Jean-Marc Sauboua
