Hook Norton makes a superb range of beers, not least the multi award winning Red Rye. At the World Beer Awards, it’s won the title of ‘World’s Best Rye Beer’ three times. Red Rye uses five hops and five malts, which result in a particularly full and fruity flavour. Based in the Cotswolds, Hook Norton is one of only 32 family owned breweries in the country, and prides itself on a long heritage in the business – established in 1849 – combined with a thoroughly modern approach. Its brewhouse is a particularly fine example of a Victorian tower design. Once water and barley malt are raised to the top, everything flows downwards during production, with no need for pumping. The result is a wonderfully moreish beer, full of fresh fruity flavour.
