Treat yourself to a bottle from one of the best known names in Champagne. It’s from the outstanding 2005 vintage too, which boasted top conditions throughout the region. Charles Heidsieck was in fact from a famous Champagne family, but then decided to found his own house in 1851. Nicknamed ‘Champagne Charlie’, he is hailed as the man who first made this fine fizz popular in North America, where he became the toast of New York society. The elegant and superbly balanced Charles Heidsieck Vintage 2005 is carefully blended from 11 cru areas, including the renowned Vertus, Oger, Avize, Cramant and Ambonnay. A blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, it offers delicious toasty notes of nuts, dried fruit and creamy richness. An utter treat.
