Lauded by the critics and selling like hotcakes by the glass in the trendiest bars, Picpoul is the grape of the moment. This delicious, lemony crisp 2019 is from Floris Lemstra’s small family estate, Château Canet. A delightfully refreshing sip.
Meet France’s new trendy white Picpoul grape, described by critic Olly Smith as “brilliant value and zinging with lemony freshness”. It thrives on the Mediterranean coast in the very south of France. Indeed, it has its very own appellation, Picpoul de Pinet AOC, stretching from Pézenas towards the fishing port of Sète. This mineral and lemon fresh 2019 comes from Dutch born Floris Lemstra's beautiful, 19th century Château Canet. He runs it with his wife Victoria and both are passionate about working with nature to make the very best wine from the finest grapes. Their dedication pays off in the impressive quality and character of this tasty fresh white. Not surprisingly, given the vineyard’s proximity to the Med, it’s great with seafood.
"Oh so good. Lighter and not quite as fruity as Sauv Blanc but much more satisfying than Pinot Grigio"
