Great Sancerre is about more than just crisp Sauvignon Blanc, it’s about ‘place’ – and that’s exactly what critics have loved about this fine white. The gently sloping vineyards that surround Sancerre’s central volcanic hill bring out a steely intensity and raciness of flavour that’s unique to the region. This special cuvée takes all its grapes from vines planted on the finest kimmeridgian limestone (les caillottes), with a gentle south facing aspect. It's part of the Cirotte family estate that lies in the village of Bué. Here you’ll find some of Sancerre’s best vineyards, including Caillottes. A classic match for goat’s cheese, this top vintage Sancerre deserves your finest seafood, herby spinach frittata or it makes a very fine apéritif.
