In the heart of the Graves appellation, Clos Floridène is named after its founders – the late Denis Dubourdieu and his wife Florence, top names in French viticulture. They chose it for its enviable location high on the calcareous soil plateau of Pujols sur Ciron, near Barsac, with plots too on the pebbly soils of Ilats. What started as 2 hectares has gradually been built up to the 31 hectares of today. 2017 has been very highly rated: Antonio Galloni of Vinous writes: “A wine of real distinction and class, the 2017 Clos Floridène Blanc also shows just how appealing the vintage is for Bordeaux's dry whites.” Fermented and aged in new oak barrels, it offers exotic fruit, toasty oak and mineral zip. Serve with fine white meat or fish dishes.
