Chat with Vinny
Drouhin is regarded as one of the finest family names in Burgundy and Puligny Montrachet is one of the region’s greatest wines. From the seriously good but tiny 2016 vintage, this is a beautifully poised, 92 point white, with superb fruit intensity.
Tasting notes
Energetic and lively with citrus and creamier notes
Aroma
Citrus and minerality with a hint of pear and white peach

Wine Advocate’s Neal Martin was full of praise for this third generation family producer when he visited in person to taste through their wines: “Drouhin continues to demonstrate what a class act they have become.” Maison Drouhin was founded 130 years ago and is now run by the four grandchildren of the original owner. Their magnificent portfolio extends from Chablis in the north to the Côte Chalonaise. They’re firm believers in organic and biodynamic viticulture, part of their philosophy of meticulous attention to detail throughout their range, from villages to Grand Cru. This is a fine 2016, still tightly reined in, but with depth, ripeness and poise. Let it breathe to enjoy all its creamy, nutty and ripe peach complexity. Will cellar too.
