The wine:

Castillon is primarily known for its reds, but it wasn’t always this way, and the team at La Clarière are proving just how exceptional its whites can be. From their 4-hectare vineyard, estate-grown Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris are barrel-fermented, lees-stirred, and cask-aged using techniques worthy of a Grand Cru Classé.

The result is a richly layered wine with grassy, creamy, lemon and peach notes, all enhanced by a subtle touch of oak spice. It’s truly a revelation for the region.
