The Burgundy 2022 en primeur campaign is due to begin in early 2024. We are now inviting customers to register interest and join our dedicated offers list for the pending campaign.
We made two visits to the region this autumn and were truly delighted with the quality across the Côte d'Or, and especially up in Chablis. This view was more than echoed by the vignerons, who were positively beaming too with their 2022s.
After the historically low yielding 2021 vintage, 2022 is comparatively bountiful and even more pleasingly is one of the most outright pleasurable vintages across both reds and whites we have come across in in recent years. In many cases these are wines that are accessible, but that equally will please the purists amongst you: Freshness, balance and polish are three words that sum up many of these young 2022s. Equally, across the appellations there is great consistency and furthermore we are noticing that the quality gulf between the established order and those ‘off the beaten track’ areas is narrowing. There is great wine to be had even at the Bourgogne or village level, making this a great vintage to discover a new grower or new wines.
As to the market, it is not secret that Burgundy prices have ratcheted up over the past decade. However, we are expecting the majority of Domaines will maintain their 2021 prices. As ever the most sought after wines will see high demand and thus we would urge you make contact with our team to register your requirements ahead of the campaign using our stock inventory table.

What is meant by 'En Primeur'?
It means reserving top vintages before they are bottled. By paying an instalment ‘up front’, you reserve wine while it is still in the barrel, before the wines are shipped to the UK during the course of 2024 and early 2025.
How does payment work?
Now you need only pay the ‘cellar door’ price. Prior to delivery, we will invoice you for the second instalment (duty - around £2.67 a bottle at today’s prices) plus VAT on the total. Delivery (currently £7.99) is also applicable, unless you are a member of Unlimited. Alternatively, you can keep your case stored In Bond or Duty Paid in our state of the art temperature- and humidity-controlled customer storage facility (currently £12.60 per case per year).
The advantages of 'En Primeur' buying
Demand for fine wines is always high as there simply isn’t enough to go around. En Primeur guarantees you an allocation of the finest wines at opening prices - providing you are quick!
Reservation certificates
Once we receive your order we will send you a Reservation Certificate to your customer address. If the wines you have chosen are sold out we’ll contact you to advise which are still available.
