Both Dr John and his wife Dr Brigid Forrest started their careers in science – the latter studying neurophysiology and molecular biology, while Brigid trained as a GP. In the late 1980s, they decided to start a pioneer winery in Marlborough. Their first ever vintage was in 1990 – a Merlot rosé, which “accidentally” won a Trophy. They’ve been at the forefront of innovation from the start, crafting award-winning wines and now their daughter, Beth, is head winemaker. The 2022 Chenin is deliciously crisp, full-bodied with racy freshness. It brims with green apple, citrus and lemon curd flavours, and is aged on lees for extra creamy roundness. Lively and youthful now, it'll age too. Enjoy solo or with salads, seafood or fish and chips.

"I love this wine – it's vibrant and zesty with crisp acidity and a weighty, creamy texture" Ben Cohn
