The 2018 Winemaker of the Year, Bordeaux-born Hervé Fabre, has led the way in Argentina with stunning, old-vine Malbec, winning trophies galore. He’s not confined to Malbec either, here combining it with Cabernet and Pinot Noir. A delicious silky red.

Raised in Bordeaux, Hervé Fabre left France in the early 1990s in search of new and more challenging wine territory in which to invest. He was heading for Chile but became side tracked by old Malbec vineyards in Argentina and never left. Hervé now runs a leading estate in Mendoza, and another in Patagonia, and has won many international awards. In 2017, Fabre was awarded Argentina Winery of the Year and in 2018, Winemaker of the Year. This is an exciting new blend – a combination of Malbec, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon and a touch of perfumed Pinot Noir. It's a supple, silky, black fruit wine, that slips down easily but is elegant and full of juicy black fruit too. A great red with steak, lasagne or a rich winter stew.
