This is seriously good. Tasted 14 Dec 2008. Very dark for a Bordeaux at the moment. Pleasing deposit on cork and in base of bottle but wine crystal clear. I think most people will enjoy this with more bottle age. Roll on Christmas 2009. Ms LIZ Collins ,  Buckinghamshire - 05/08/09 00:56:38
Saint-Georges Saint-Emilion, now part of Montagne Saint-Emilion, is one of this most esteemed wine region's satellite villages and a terrific source of excellent value, top quality wines.

In a great year such as 2005 there is little to distinguish a great wine such Château macquin from many a Grand Cru Saint-Emilion, thanks in no small part to the similarity of the terroir. The vines are on average 55 years' old ensuring lovely concentration and the consultant winemaker is the renowned Jean-Claude Berrouet.

This is a delicious, oak-aged Merlot-rich wine with bags of plumy fruit and soft, supple tannins.
